Gutenberg Chairs are programs organised by the local authorities of the French region “Alsace” on the suggestion of the Cercle Gutenberg

The duration of the Chair is approximately one year and the chair’s recipients will receive the following:
- The “Gutenberg Prize” worth 10 000 euros, given personnally
- Specific financial help of 50 000 euros attributed to the host laboratory and reserved entirely for the execution of their research project.

 

The recipient researchers are invited and paid by their original institution in the form of a sabbatical year or by the hosting institution(s) according to the usual procedures. All discliplines are eligible. The invited researcher who is awarded the Gutenberg Chair is able to keep the funds provided by the institution and may simultaneously hold other financial assistance.


Deadlines for application: calls are announced on www.alsace.cnrs.fr . Deadlines are around March for positions for the following year.

 

Les Chaires Gutenberg sont un dispositif mis en place par la région Alsace à l’est de la france, sur proposition du Cercle Gutenberg, pour faciliter l’accueil en Alsace pendant une période d’environ un an, de chercheurs de niveau international invités par des établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche.
Les titulaires d’une Chaire Gutenberg bénéficient à ce titre
•    d’un « Prix Gutenberg » de 10 00 € qui leur est attribué personnellement
•    d’une dotation financière spécifique de 50 000 € attribuée à leur unité d’accueil et affectée intégralement à la réalisation de leur projet de recherche.

IDEX Paris-Saclay project, of which ENS Cachan is partner, promotes the international opening of its members' academic programmes through the creation of a competitive international grant programme aimed at very high level students interested in undertaking a research training education leading to PhD studies.

For the academic year 2013-2014, one-year scholarships, renewable another year on condition of success, will be offered to international students interested in following a 1st year of Master (M1) in one of the academic programmes of the ENS Cachan.
