Applications for visas are made to the Visa service of the French Embassy or the respective Consulate. In general, appointments for visas are made through the visa facilitation service of VFS. Please go through this section in detail for more specific information.

Depending on the state in which you reside you will have to apply to the appropriate Visa service:
- Mumbai Consulate (visa): Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Goa and Karnataka
- Pondicherry Consulate (visa): Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Union Territory of Pondicherry (Karikal, Mahe, Pondicherry and Yanaon), the Lakshwadeep Islands
- Delhi Embassy (visa) : Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Bhutan, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal
