NCBS offers a number of positions to scientists every year.

 

Interested researchers are encouraged to directly contact faculty or scientists at NCBS they are interested in working with.


The Young Investigator Program is for exceptionally talented, young scientists who wish to establish themselves rapidly as independent researchers. Positions are awarded for five years and recent PhD holders or post doctorants with some experience can apply. For more information, click here.


Post doctoral fellowships are awarded to scientists wishing to work in an existing NCBS research group. Awards are made twice a year, in February and in August. For more information, click here.


PhD studentships are offered to students with a Masters degree in any scientific discipline. Calls for PhD positions are made every year in August or September. PhD studentships are funded. NCBS also offers integrated MSc – PhD programs. Click here for more information.

 

NCBS also offers training positions to students completing their Master degree, faculty positions as well.

JNCASR runs PhD and integrated PhD (MSc + PhD) programs. JNCASR also hosts a number of international students and scientists every year.

The Indian Institute of Science hosts a large number of short term and long term international scientists.

Direct Fellowships are available for foreign students wishing to pursue Phds and MSc at the Indian Institute of Science. For more information including deadlines and application dates, see the IISc's IR Cell website.

Applications for the two year Centenary Post Doctoral Fellowship are currently being accepted. Applicants of any nationality, who are budding scientists or engineers and have recently been awarded their PhD can apply. The fellowships are funded. Applications are accepted all year.   • ICM 2010...The French mathematicians are supported by the Comité National Français des Mathématiciens (CNFM), la Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (SMAI), the Société Mathématique de France (SMF) and the CNRS

  • ICM 2010 ...France is traditionally well represented at the ICM, more so after the 1990s.This year, the French delegation, second only to the American, has 4 plenary speakers, and 22 invited speakers. Out of the 48 Fields Medals, 9 have been awarded to French mathematicians.

  • ICM 2010 The European delegation counts 76 mathematicians, from 15 countries: Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Russia, Belgium, Spain, Holland, Austria, Finland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic and Hungary.

  • ICM 2010...During ICM 2010, two to four Fields medals will be awarded, the Nevanlinna Prize in theoretical computer science, the Gauss Prize for applied mathermatics and for the first time, the Chern Prize.
