An international joint laboratory has been founded by the CEA, the CNRS and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The Indo French Nuclear Physics IJL follows the first agreement between GANIL (CNRS-CEA) and BARC signed during the state visit in 2008. The creation of the IJL will enable tthe pursuit of existing Indo French cooperation in nuclear physics and initiate a collaboration agreement for the project on the second generation radioactive ion beam production system, SPIRAL2.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Master of Science in Nuclear Energy, run by consortium of leading academic institutions located in Paris, France (Université Paris-Sud 11, ParisTech, Supélec, École Centrale Paris, CEA/INSTN) with the support of major companies (EDF, AREVA, GDF SUEZ).The program, taught in English is open to students holding Bachelor degrees in Physics, Engineering or Chemistry. Students can specialise in nuclear reactor physics and engineering, plant design, operation, fuel cycle and decommissioning and waste management.
